Other prominent employers in the area include ON Semiconductor, Portneuf Medical Center, and Simplot.
ISU, located in Pocatello, is a comprehensive research university offering a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programs. The university is known for its strong programs in engineering, health sciences, business, and education, attracting students from across the region and beyond.
Culturally, the Pocatello metro area offers a variety of attractions and events that celebrate the region’s history, arts, and culture. Major attractions in the Pocatello metro area include the Fort Hall Replica, a reconstructed trading post that offers insight into the area’s pioneer history, and the Portneuf Greenway, a scenic trail system that winds through the city and along the Portneuf River. The nearby Lava Hot Springs, located just a short drive from Pocatello, is a popular destination for soaking in natural hot springs and enjoying outdoor recreational activities.
