Major employers in the region include Belleville General Hospital, Loyalist College, and the National Air Force Museum of Canada. Additionally, the area benefits from its proximity to major transportation routes, including Highway 401 and the Trent-Severn Waterway, which facilitate trade and commerce.
Culturally, the Belleville–Quinte West area offers a rich tapestry of arts, heritage, and entertainment. The region is home to numerous cultural institutions, galleries, and theaters, including the Belleville Public Library and the Quinte Arts Council, which promote and showcase the work of local artists and performers. In terms of sports, the Belleville–Quinte West area is passionate about hockey, with the Belleville Senators, the AHL affiliate of the Ottawa Senators, being a major draw for sports fans.
