Although Erie may not boast major professional sports teams, the Erie SeaWolves (a Double-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers), Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League, and Erie BayHawks, a basketball team playing in the NBA G League, fill this gap with high-caliber minor league action.
