RBLP is the only nationally recognized series of leadership certifications. Our tiered certification program allows frontline, experienced, and senior managers to validate all of the leadership knowledge, skills, and experience they have gained getting the work done in their organizations.
RBLP leadership certifications have significant college credit recommendations from the American Council on Education (ACE).
Our certifications are listed on the U.S. Department of Labor CareerOneStop site as a workforce development resource for employees and employers. The U.S. Department of Defense credentialing programs and the GI Bill fund our certifications for military personnel and veterans.

The Lake-Porter-Jasper Counties area in Indiana, located in the northwestern part of the state, forms a significant and dynamic region known for its industrial base and natural beauty. This area, which encompasses over 1,500 square miles, houses a population exceeding 700,000 residents, making it one of the most populous and economically active regions in Indiana.
Geographically, the area features a mix of urban and rural landscapes. Lake County, with Gary and Hammond as major cities, borders Lake Michigan, offering industrial waterfronts that are vital for commerce and transportation. Porter County, featuring Valparaiso as its county seat, and Jasper County, with Rensselaer, showcase more rural settings with agricultural lands and smaller towns that contribute to the region’s diverse character.
The economy in this tri-county area is heavily influenced by manufacturing, steel production, and transportation logistics, capitalizing on its proximity to Chicago and access to several major transportation routes, including interstates and railroads. Lake County hosts several large steel mills and manufacturing plants, including U.S. Steel and ArcelorMittal, which are among the area’s largest employers. Porter County benefits from a growing service sector and healthcare, with Porter Regional Hospital and Valparaiso University’s associated health system contributing significantly to local employment.
Education plays a central role in the region’s development. Valparaiso University, located in Porter County, is a prominent institution known for its strong programs in law, engineering, and business. Additionally, Ivy Tech Community College has campuses in both Lake and Valparaiso counties, providing vocational and technical education that supports the local industries. These educational institutions not only serve local students but also attract others from across the Midwest, adding to the area’s vibrancy and diversity.
Culturally, the Lake-Porter-Jasper area is rich with offerings that reflect its industrial heritage and diverse communities. The Indiana Dunes National Park, located along the shore of Lake Michigan in Porter County, draws millions of visitors annually for its spectacular landscapes and recreational opportunities, such as hiking, bird-watching, and beach activities. The South Shore Arts Center in Munster, Lake County, promotes arts and cultural awareness across the region, offering exhibitions, performances, and educational programs. Additionally, the annual Popcorn Festival in Valparaiso celebrates the local heritage and community spirit with parades, live music, and, of course, popcorn.
Sports and recreation are also integral to the region’s lifestyle. While there are no major professional sports teams within the counties, the area enjoys a robust local sports scene, with high school and collegiate sports drawing significant community involvement. The RailCats, a minor league baseball team in Gary, provide a local pastime, while numerous public parks and golf courses in all three counties offer ample recreational opportunities.
Major attractions further underscore the region’s appeal. The Lighthouse Place Premium Outlets in Michigan City, near the border of Lake and Porter counties, offer extensive shopping opportunities. Deep River Waterpark in Crown Point is a popular destination during the summer months. The annual County Fair in each county, featuring rides, exhibits, and competitions, highlights the area’s agricultural roots and community bonds.
