What is a Community of Practice?

A Community of Practice (CoP) is a group of people who share a common interest or profession and who come together to learn, solve problems, and improve their practice through ongoing interaction. Unlike one-time events or training sessions, a Community of Practice is built on sustained collaboration, shared knowledge, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

In leadership and organizational development, Communities of Practice are especially powerful because they allow individuals to exchange experiences, support one another, and strengthen the skills that help teams succeed.

The RBLP Community of Practice

The RBLP Community of Practice is defined by a shared understanding of leadership fundamentals and a mutual commitment to building and leading resilient teams. Resilient teams are the backbone of resilient organizations, and they thrive even in challenging environments. They overcome adversity, adapt to change, and grow stronger together.

Getting the work done is never simple. Every organization faces setbacks and obstacles, but resilient teams make problem-solving, improvement, innovation, and change possible. The RBLP Community of Practice exists to support leaders in developing the mindset and skills to build these kinds of teams.

Growth Mindset at the Core

What sets this community apart is a shared belief in a growth mindset. We know that leadership is not a fixed trait—it is developed through hard work, dedication, and continuous practice. Members of the RBLP Community of Practice are self-directed, lifelong learners who take initiative and accept responsibility for their own development.

We also know that being “brilliant at the basics” of leadership is essential for every manager, whether at the frontline, experienced, or senior level. By focusing on fundamentals, leaders create the conditions where teams can adapt, innovate, and succeed.

Why Communities of Practice Matter

A Community of Practice is not just about exchanging tips or best practices—it’s about building collective resilience. The RBLP Community of Practice helps leaders sharpen their ability to create positive climates, foster strong connections, and provide purpose, ensuring their teams remain strong under pressure.

By connecting leaders across industries and experiences, this community creates a shared space where knowledge grows, skills are tested, and leadership is strengthened. Together, members build not only resilient teams, but also more resilient organizations.
