Is the RBLP Leadership Certification for me?
When people think about earning certifications, the motivation is often straightforward: they want to get a job or get promoted.
In a competitive job market, employers are looking for more than technical knowledge – they want leaders who can build strong teams, foster resilience, and deliver results under pressure.
That’s where the Resilience-Building Leadership Professional (RBLP) certification comes in.
Who Is the RBLP Certification For?
The RBLP certification is designed for frontline and aspiring managers. These are the people responsible for guiding teams through the day-to-day work that keeps organizations running.
Frontline managers:
- Direct and coordinate the work of their teams.
- Manage resources and ensure daily operations run smoothly.
- Take responsibility for the morale, motivation, and well-being of their people.
More than task execution, frontline managers shape the environment where teamwork, creativity, and resilience thrive.
If you are a new or aspiring manager – or if you are currently leading a team and want to strengthen your leadership skills – the RBLP certification is built for you.
Why should college students stack credentials with an RBLP Leadership Certification?
What Does the Certification Involve?
To earn the RBLP certification, candidates complete:
- Three hours of instructor-led prep training focused on oral exam rehearsal.
- A 1.5-hour oral certification exam assessing your leadership knowledge, skills, and experience.
The American Council on Education (ACE) recommends three (3) semester hours of college credit at the lower-division baccalaureate level in Team Leadership for the RBLP certification exam.
Once earned, you may use the RBLP designation and proudly describe yourself as RBLP certified.
What Will You Be Assessed On?
The RBLP exam is competency-based. You will be evaluated on your ability to build and lead resilient teams in three key domains:
1. Team Climate
Creating a positive team climate improves morale, creativity, and adaptability. You’ll demonstrate your ability to:
- Analyze team climate.
- Earn trust and treat people with respect.
- Enforce accountability while encouraging fun.
- Manage expectations and support your team when times are tough.
2. Team Cohesion
Cohesion strengthens relationships, reduces stress, and drives teamwork. You’ll show your ability to:
- Analyze cohesion and organize people to work in teams.
- Promote trust and mutual respect among team members.
- Keep the team informed, focused on the mission, and learning from setbacks.
3. Individual Purpose
Purpose empowers team members to grow, stay motivated, and connect their work to the bigger mission. You’ll demonstrate your ability to:
- Analyze individual purpose and support personal/professional development.
- Demonstrate character and show genuine concern for people.
- Encourage learning, delegate responsibility, and empower decision-making.
- Train the team and build collective efficacy.
